Let’s Get Ready to Partay!
HAPPY CHANUKAH dear readers! May we all experience genuine joy during this auspicious season. Below is a brief guide to aid you in case you become possessed with the “I’ve got nothing to wear” syndrome right before a Chanukah (or office Holiday) party. The clothing suggestions are founded on one’s “style personality.” Mix and match the various looks if you feel like it. Go ahead…It’s party time!
The Classicist
First up is The Classicist: She is a mademoiselle who usually opts for timeless dresses and separates. How can a Classicist revamp her Chanukah party style? Sequins of course. At this point, sequins are practically synonymous with winter festivities. It is and will always be the traditional Holiday fashion. A P.O.C (pop of color) in your accessories will surely add further cheer to a sparkly outfit. Speaking of accessories, a statement-making necklace will definitely be welcome when paired with solid yet richly hued separates. A Collar Necklace is what I have in mind.

The Downtown Princess
Next up is the Downtown Princess. A little glamour, a little rock-and-roll, and a whole lot of awesome. The style hallmarks of a Downtown girl are fur, leather, and a sturdy pair of heeled booties. Contrast your glamorous and edgy pieces with a bit of femininity: Think lace with fur, lace or chiffon with leather, or a moto jacket with a floral print.

The Quirky Sophisticate
Third on the list is the Sophisticate with a hint of impishness. She tends to play it safe with her silhouettes (clean-cut blazers, A-lined skirts), but will embrace the idiosyncratic with a graphic sweater or fabulous blend of texture and pattern. She is simply a fusion of polished and playful at its best.

The “Comfy Chic” Chick

This style is all about balancing a dressy item with a devil-may-care one. As a woman who craves comfort, why not reach for a deliciously chunky sweater? Pair it with a sleek skirt to balance the sweater’s roominess (the photo below is from Zara). Another choice is wear a metallic bottom (such as metallic pleated skirt) with a denim jacket or shirt OR visa-versa. These looks are pretty much the golden standard of no-fuss elegance.

Still Don’t Know What to Wear?
If you are the type to scratch your head over a party’s unofficial “dress code,” then pull your leather skirt off the hanger and contrast it with a versatile striped shirt. This look strikes the perfect balance between effortlessness and formality and always works! Look who’s talking though…I’ve yet to buy myself an investment-worthy leather skirt.
